-Piston Skirt Profiling: In the engineering department at CP-Carrillo , where the magic happens. With numerous bore/rod length/stroke combinations ranging differences with cylinder liner types , cooling features and many more factors- the perfect “Cam and Barrel” Profiles are utilized to maximize how well the piston gets along with the cylinder. If the wrong profiles are used there could be power loss , decelerated wear and worse results. The cam and barrel profile describes the shape of the thrust surfaces on the piston to allow the piston to change directions at the end of it’s stroke sequence without tearing up the bore or cylinder. he cm and barely profile also aids in a smooth transition to allow for less power loss die to the “Ker-plunk” the piston sees when changes directions in stroke.
